This month we return to the land of Nigeria in West Africa and we celebrate a traditional textile technique that has heritage and history. We bring you a special fabric with a project that will test and build your sewing skills. We are using locally sourced cotton fabrics that is dyed with traditional indigo that's sourced from the historical dye pits of Kano and you will be making a special project with special handcrafted trims for this October. Using this popular colour associated denim and associated with Nigerias heritage you will have a sewing project that has a history and story to tell. Summer months continue on and the world is opening up for us to have a summer holiday and meet up with friends so this month has another summer focused project to work with. We are using handwoven fabric sourced from our supplier Sharon with her project in Uganda we will be making a summer short for August. Using this fresh of the loom fabric handwoven with gorgeous summery stripes in blue/blue or bue/white will enhance your sewing skills this summer! So using fabric sourced from our supplier Amara in Nigeria we will be making a frilled bikini for July. Using stretch ankara fabric with a traditional waxpint peacock design will enhance your sewing skills this summer! I got the exact two fabrics I liked best, which is the sort of coincidence I can get behind. I'm pleased I got the tube, too, since it's really pretty. LorraineOk so as many others I am not sure that I would have picked the colours but thats what is great about the box. You get to use colours that you would normally avoid and it stretches your mind and imagination. The more I look at them the more I love them

TayoI got my box today, yayyy!! I have been seeing the very pretty tubes and was hoping I would get one of those too but the box is pretty too. I would also have liked to have received some particular prints too, like some people have mentioned. However, I signed up to this with a clear understanding that the nature of the subscription is that we get different things every month. I was mentally prepared to like some and not like some, which is just down to personal preferences. I am quite happy with the materials I received this month, although I would personally have chosen other colours, given a choice. (I am secretly envious of some of your fabrics to be honest.😁) I think Jacqueline has put a lot of thought and time into the boxes and I really appreciate all the little personal touches. (I love the free pattern, thanks babe!) I am looking forward to next month's surprise box/tube already!
